Hey there,

im sharing a printer from win2k3 but am unable to see it with samba. the share works fine in win2k etc, but i cant get samba to connect to it. previosly i had this setup with a win2k print cue and that worked fine.

is it even possible with win2k3 and samba?

im using fedora core 1, suse 9, mandrake 9.2 and redhat 9.
ive used the included samba ver and also 3

any ideas

Thanks in advance
:D

It's probably due to passwords and accounts. W2k3 has some extra security by default turned on, so it may have to do with that.

Have a look into that first...

Done this at work but that was with an AD setup on windows and open ldap/kerberos on linux. The linux realm was trusted by the AD domain. authentication was thus done by the linux box. I dont think it can go the other way due to the closed nature of Active Directory (ldap.. but not).

Just a simple suggestion, was CUPS installed on the Win box ??
i know i have overlooked that a few times; without it a linux box cant see the printer share.
