Is there a Fedora Core miror anywhere on the Swiftel nework? Barring that, is there one somewhere nearby that isn't as overloaded as the central ones?

Try your nearset DC Hub on the Swiftel Network.

Here's the QLD one http://forum.swiftdsl.com.au/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3953

Here is a copy of my yum.conf

[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy=newest
distroverpkg=fedora-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1

[base]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Base
#baseurl=http://fedora.redhat.com/releases/fedora-core-$releasever
baseurl=http://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/redhat/fedora/$releasever/i386/os/

[updates-released]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Released Updates
#baseurl=http://fedora.redhat.com/updates/released/fedora-core-$releasever
baseurl=http://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/redhat/fedora/updates/releasever/i386/

#[updates-testing]
#name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Unreleased Updates
#baseurl=http://fedora.redhat.com/updates/testing/fedora-core-$releasever
#baseurl=http://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/redhat/fedora/updates/testing/$releasever/i386/

# This is used for Clam-AV
[crash-hat]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - CrashHat
baseurl=http://crash.fce.vutbr.cz/crash-hat/$releasever

To get the original ISOs -- go to http://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/redhat/fedora/ -- or --
http://linux.pacific.net.au/redhat/fedora/

I use the Linux one for interactivity... and the 'mirror' for yum. :)

I get very good downloads constantly from it... it's not on the Swift network -- but speeds are always at MAX! :) (Better than P2P!) ;)

Cheers,

Matt.
