Hi.
I've noticed for the past few weeks that there are frequent occasions when I'll click an article subject heading and the article will take a long time to display.
The same problem will sometimes also occur when I open a newsgroup. There'll be a longish delay before the list of threads comes up.
Is there some sort of problem with the news server? Am I the only one seeing this?

I have had this problem since joining swiftel about 4months ago. It is Definitely a problem with swiftel as I access a couple of other newserver and I have no problems with them.

Perhaps the problem isn't showing up in Perth? I'm in Melbourne, if that helps.

I have also had problems with the news server timing out and being generally slow.
Although as I write this it seems ok.

Has there been any further action on this issue? It's really quite annoying.

Hi,
I have been keeping an eye on it, and with the recent pop maintenance I have only seen issues when work has been in progress.
Does it exhibit this slow behaviour all the time for you or only in peak hours ?

It's pretty much all the time. During the day and in the evening. Sometimes I'll just get a "Connecting" status when I change newsgroups, and it'll sit there for about thirty seconds before it wakes up. Other times I'll click on an article and it won't dispolay for twenty or thirty seconds or so.

I should also chime in here and note that the news server usage is counted as external for people in WA, or for me at least.
