I am attempting to get started with Hardware Online and I don't know what to enter for the Proxy Server Name and Ports? I am connecting through a Billion 741 and have succesfully connected to Central Station.
Anyone able to guide me with these game settings?
Thanx in Advance

I have no idea what you are on about.
Although you may need to open a port for the ability to use the headset. You can find the info if you log into the game and check up on the news I think. Or even just ask another headset user.
Mind you not many use the headset in HOA.

Hi FlameHead,
The Proxy Server Name and Port settings are part of the user setup screen. In the Hardware Online booklet they are shown as system options. It states in the booklet that they are used for DNAS, which I take to be Sony's login verification system.
Anyway, without them it it seems impossible to get the game to connect. Mind you if they aren't relevant, could it be the firewall settings on the Billion. At the moment I have this set at low security. Should the firewall be disabled?
Thanks for your help!

well you shouldn't need any proxy or port forwarding for hardware online arena.
Check your router to see if your ps2 is getting an IP address from it and then start fiddling with the router setting I guess.
Mind you, can you play games on your PC fine?

Can play a game through Central Station site. Is that what you mean?
How do I go about checking if the ps2 is getting an ip address through the router?

Umm i don't use any proxy settings for HOA. I just put my PS2 into a DMZ and it works fine.

Well if central station works then I think what you are dealing with is a firewall problem.

Flamehead,
Yep, firewall it was! Thanks for your help.
Do you know how to set the firewall to let the game connection through only. At the moment it works when turned off but I'd like to keep it there for safety's sake.

It really depends what game you want to let though. You have to find which ports the game needs and then tell your firewall those are okay..
On ea games this information can usually be found online(with the ps2) on the news section for the game.
I'm unclear on what ports hardware online arena or other games use.
