Uninstalling the bittorent will not remove the spyware on your IE.

The one you have installed is just spyware and alot of people had the same problem, firstly remove the bittorent you have installed

Install Bittorent shadow's experimental (spyware free).

I find this one to be reliable more in speed.

Adware and spybot will remove most of those nasties but i still had a few constant popups and could not remove them, till a friend recommended pest patrol, excellent program (trial version).

Hope this helps

Hi pistonie

Sounds like you might have picked up CoolWebSearch - a particularly nasty piece of scumware. Unfortunately, it has more variants that you can poke a stick at, and programs like Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-aware and Spyware Blaster simply can't keep up with them.

Fortunately, a student in the Netherlands has currently made it his life's work to keep on top of this nasty - you can download a removal tool and read all about the different variants on his website

Good luck

Holy crap, sounds like a major ad/spyware attack.

Download these:
*Ad-aware 6
*Spybot - Search & Destroy
*CWShredder - this will fix your IE toolbar, the homepage problem or both, I can't remember

Thanks for posting this, because I was thinking about using bittorrent. But now that I know it's infected with ad/spyware, I'll just stick with Kazaa Lite.
