Notrons Anti Virus 2004 Pro could not repair a file infected with a W32.Bugbear.B@mm virus/W32.Blaster.Worm ( it was attached to my Win sys32.exe file )
- it was quarranted and then deleted, I don't have another copy of this file which my computer asks for at each
startup. Can you help? Where can I get a copy of this file, I can't find it on my OS install disks.
All help is greatly appreciated

What version of Windoze are you running?
Have you looked in the cab files?
You can use Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/) to search the cab files.
I don't have 'sys32.exe' on my Windoze XP.

Found these:
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.lovit.html
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojircbotc.html
Might be relevant.
Suggest you do a search on sys32.exe and sys32 .exe (note the space).
If the virus scanner won't remove the virus it is always worth checking the vendors website as they do write removal tools. See http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/tools.list.html for the symatic ones.

You'll be able to get the file back from the original CDs your OS came from.
Use cabextract to extract the file.
If a system file was corrupted my advice would be to 'format' and start again... whilst painful it often will remove any other nasties or timebombs.
Backup your 'My Documents' prior to starting... the rest you should be able to recover.
I recommend purchasing Norton Ghost 2003/2004 -- you can take a full snapshot of your system and recover this way.
I personally recommend AGAINST Norton AV, I have found it DOESN'T always pickup all viruses.
Rely on a few... only run one 'Active Scanner' and use the others for OnDemand scanning. Why trust one for your valuable files?
I personally use McAfee -- and find it good. I also use several others.. including NOD32 (as recommended by another forum user here!), KAV and have seperate scanners for my mail servers. :)
Good luck!
Cheers,
M@tt.
