XBOX Live ping times

I am getting a ping of 236ms to xbox live using the console diagnostics.

Seems pretty high. Is anyone else in Australia getting a lower ping meaning my router config or is this about right (Assuming it is pinging a US server)

Any feedback appreciated.

To get the diagnostics screen start the console with no disk (plain dashboard) and connect to the Xbox live service, then press the Y button. The L section is the Latency

Not that I've checked what my console is getting, but 236ms to the US sounds about right...

I got 273ms :(

Thanks for pointing out where i can find this, now i can test any setup and connection changes i make (and then get depressed when nothing happens :) ).

When I first joined swiftel I was getting about 165 to 175ms but now its around 185 to 195ms

Do you plug straight into a modem or via a router. Mine is via a router but now seems to be 210ms.

My xbox is hooked up with a Alcatel 530 direct to the xbox.But having a faster connection speed helps.
