You need to setup your computer to share the internet to your PS2.
What OS you running on your computer?

i run windows xp.
wen i turn on my playstation with the network disc the link light on the adaptor goes solid green but after i do all the settings and it asks me to test out if it works , it dusnt work and the link light goes off.
think my settings are wrong?
I don't actually have a PS2, so I can't comment on how it works and such.
Try on your computer going to the Network Connections page and use the network setup wizard. Tell it you want to share the internet to other computers on your network and go on from there.

have you aleady set up the modem/router using a pc?
Because once you do that you can get the ps2 working pretty easily just by using all auto default settings.

Because once you do that you can get the ps2 working pretty easily just by using all auto default settings. From what I have read it appears he is directly connecting the modem via usb/ethernet to his computer and then a cross-over cable between the computer and Xbox.
The computer would of course need to be setup to share the internet to any other "computers" requesting internet data from the NIC.

The ps2 is directly connected to the router. This has nothing to do with ICS or using the PC as a router.
Danny, so the modem is obviously working with your pc?
So what happens when you let the ps2 get it's IP via dhcp? in the default gateway and primary DNS enter the ip of your router if you are still having troubles.
Sorry, my mistake, I read it wrong.
