View Full Version : Ps2 & Np7042
Just noticed the USB ports on my PS2. Would it be possible to use my Netcomm NP7042 to play internet games with it?
Thanks, Ted.
I don't believe so, from what I've heard you have to use the Ethernet port from the Broadband Adapter thing.
But then again, I don't actually own a PS2 so my knowledge about the PS2 online gaming service is limited.
Thanks, I haven't got any online games, but I might rent one, and try it.

the only game it might possibly work on is Tony Hawk 3 and 4, but it's still highly unlikely.
You really do need a broadband adapter.
And it's only $69 and since you don't have any online games anyway it comes with the best one out now (well bar socom) Hardware Online Arena.
The problem is, I don't have a wired network in place at all. And unless I move my TV and PS2 into my study, I can't use the broadband adapter...
Unless, is there a W/Less adapter that I can hook into a Network Point?
If you got a Wireless Access Point and an Ethernet to Wireless adapter, you would be fine. However, it could set you back a bit of money. Say $250 for the access point and $180 for the Ethernet to Wireless adapter.
I've already got an Access Point (MR314), but I don't want to spend $180, so I guess no PS2 'Live' for me... :(

The best solution if your pc is of reasonable speed (1ghz+)
is to buy a $65 tuner card and play your ps2 on your pc monitor, it's far better quality than any tv.
That's a good idea...a VERY good idea...
I might investigate that.
