Does Swiftel have a news server ?

If not are there any plans ?

Is traffic to it free ?

no idea if it is free or not, but i doubt that it is.

Downloads from the news server count towards the download allowance.

I'm successfully retrieving some news from news.swiftdsl.com.au, but the experience is far from satisfactory at the moment: only articles from the last day or two appear be available.

I'm still working through my own installation, ensuring that I haven't left something out changing servers. Can anyone advise how news.swiftdsl is working for them? Do all headers turn up with bodies? At the moment I'm having to run to google for anything older than yesterday.

Yes - only 1 days messages are current at any one time - not the best

We have doubled the size of the news server data store, now 400GB. It should make a difference.

Hopefully another 200GB will make some improvement! Is this a very recent upgrade?
