Comparing Aus.Electronics I can see obvious gaps in the messages from Sydney News Server.
Whereas entire threads are missing from the Perth newsserver.
What is so frigging difficult with configuring a news server?

If it was so easy then there would be at least one good news server in Australia. But there isn't, They all suck, especially for binaries.
I think we should get rid of ALL groups except AUS.* and then ONLY add groups when more then one person asks for it. Keep it down to 5000-10000 groups and lets have some completion on Binary groups and retention on text groups.

Hi,
The Perth Server has been decomissioned, the DNS for it points to the Sydney machine. The service is still up via IP but shouldn't be used.
I will be removing a large wildcarded slab of alt.binary groups from our feed provider to help speed up its propogation and improve text group retention.

Probably the volume of data. Would anyone at Swift hazard a guess at how much new stuff comes in every day?

Basically, it is quite a few shit loads. Very technical, because frankly most of it is shite.
Seriously, as some one has already suggested aus.*, then as people request them.
I do not expect Swiftel to bring everything in. There is just too much crap.
