Hi is there someone out there that can tell me in terms that I can understand how I go about setting up a second computer from my Netcomm3100 ? I have brought a hub and 1 RJ45 lead but for the life of me I cannot understand the instructions sooooo technical therefore any help would be gratefully appreciated. The main computer is running through the network card and I have a network card for the second computer is this all I need. ?

Very simple really.

Connect your modem to the hub with a standard cable

Connect computers to hub with standard cable.

Ensure all computers are set to use DHCP.

Enjoy!

What operating system are you using? windows 98? xp?
You need to tell it to obtain an ip address automatically but the exact instructions on where and how to do this depend on the operating system.

Ok...
Goto control panel (start -> control panel)
Switch to "classic view" if you haven't already done that.
Dbl click on "network connections"
Right click on "Local area connection" and click properties.
Dbl click on "TCP/IP"
Make sure "Obtain an ip address automatically" and "obtain dns server address automatically" are selected

That's it!

Assuming your modem is configured correctly and you are using the correct cables, it should now work. Try rebooting if it doesn't
