Hi all,

Just wanting to know if you can block email addresses through swiftdsl? My Outlook Express does it, but all it does it transfer the blocked email to the recycle bin instead of bouncing it.
Or does anyone know of any programs that do this?

Thanks,

Trev

A program called Phoenix Mail may help.
It is freeware but I think it is no longer supported .

It can be found here:

I'm sure there are other programs that do what you want but Phoenix Mail is the only one I've used.

Hi trevexa,

Swiftdsl is working on a spam solution in the near future that will provide that, unfortunately you cannot "bounce" emails once you have collected them with your OE email client.

Actually it might be possible to use a IMAP email client to filter these out before downloading.

Yes you can have an email that blocks spam AND bounces email and cjhecks all incoming email for viruses!

:)

fastmail.fm does just that.

I use fastmail.fm as my main mail. there are 4 levels. Guest (free) and member through to enhanced with 150MB storage space.

All spam is send to a spam folder and you jst empty it once a day or what whatever.

there is a bounce facility also so you can bounce emails that come in.

Also they use Kaspersky antivirus and inform you of blocked emails coming in due to viruses.

Itis also, as the name suggests, fast.

I recommend it.

You dont have to but if anyone wants to sign up and name me go to:

http://www.fastmail.fm/mail/?STKI=89760

and I will earn a couple of pennies.!

I use MailWasher to check, delete and bounce emails from the mail server, so I don't waste time downloading junk (not to mention viruses). There is a free version if you only want to use it with one email address (not Hotmail).

I have used it for more than a year and am very happy with it.
