Here at my home we have two computers. Our families ageing iMac G3 :) , (600MHz, 40GB, 384MB, USB, FireWire running Mac OS X 10.2.8 "Jagwire"); and My brothers new Windows XP Professional laptop (yuk) :( .
We only have the one printer, an Epson Stylus Colour 680, which is connected to the iMac over USB, and we wish to be able to print documents over the network from my brothers laptop, using the iMac as a Print server and family computer. I know that Mac OS X supports this as in the Sharing Preferences pane I have enabled printer sharing.
We have a hardwired 10/100 ethernet network which shares files, among other things the internet connection and other tidbits.
I can print fro the iMac but when I try to configure the printer on the xp-pro laptop It can't use it.
Can anyone tell me: a. if the iMac is configured incorrectly to be able to share the printer, b. if it is possible to get this working, and c. how to get this working.
Thankyou
