Hi,
I can't access any of my email accounts at 8:30pm Melbourne time.
Anyone else having problems?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:
I tried to send the following email to support:

Hi,
Emails to tonykerr@swiftdsl.com.au & xenon@swiftel.com.au are not getting through.
Using OutLook Express (Current version) I'm getting the following error message:

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'xenon@swiftdsl.com.au'. Subject 'testing @ 21:35', Account: 'mail.net2000.com.au', Server: 'mail.net2000.com.au', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 <xenon@swiftdsl.com.au>... Relaying denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Thanks,

Btw, I had this problem last night (I only connected with swiftel yesterday) and I was just wondering if this is just 'teething' problems or is there something wrong at my end?

I got the following error message:

Hi,

You cannot have a swifTEL.com.au address !

Looks to me your Outlook (Express) is confused (didn't apply your changes) or your sending to the wrong server.

Seems to be a common thing, when you add multiple email prefs.

I know we saw someone else with the SSL thing even though sent secure email is turned off.

Just out of curiosity try another email program like http://www.eudora.com/

P.s if your in Melbourne please change to the new server:

smtp.swiftdsl.com.au

Thanks,
Changed to smtp.swiftdsl.com.au.
Emails sent FROM hotmail are getting through.
Emails sent from one swiftdsl account to another are also working.
Still cant send from old ISP to swiftdsl, though thats not really a problem, as you said outlook is probably confused.
Thanks again,
Tony Kerr

I may be reading this wrong but is net2000.com.au you're old ISP? i.e. still you're default acount your sending from?
;)

Net2000 is old ISP, just using it to test swiftel account.
Net2000 is NOT default, tonykerr@swiftdsl is default.
Account still good for about another month.

Okay, a word of caution. When you reply to email conversions that took place using your old account, OE will try to keep using that account until you tell it to specifically use your new one (this applies only to 'older' email conversations).

I know this from experience. When I was churning away from TPG, I used an Ozemail account for a little while, anyway, I still occasionaly reply to an email and use the Ozemail account by mistake.

I'll keep that in mind.
In about a month I'll remove the net2000 settings as the account will no longer be active.
Thanks,
Tony Kerr

Hi,

Fudge the DNS by host fileing the old NAME / IP mappings.

You can also use this to stop your computer talking to certain named sites.

127.0.0.1 somespysite
