Login Timeouts 4-Oct-2003

Hello All,

Was there a network outage in Melbourne last night? I kept getting timeout errors on all attempts to log in (authenticate). I gave up at about 23:00 last night. All was back to normal this morning.

I am a very new Swiftel user and want to make sure it wasn't a problem with my account.

What part of Melbourne are you in? I certainly didn't have any problems although a couple of other people have reported problems on this forum. It appears to have only affected people in certain areas.

One place you can look is the Telstra Broadband Wholesale section on telstra.com/servicestatus. It is currently reporting a problem that is affecting some customers in Victoria.

One of the disadvantages of ADSL is that it is difficult to get completely away from Telstra

No; but as the previous poster said, there were Telstra network problems affecting approximately 30% of the State.
