Hiya ! We have reached our quote (again!!!) this month and there is still 10 or so days to go so I want to purchase extra but when I go to that section there is nothing in the service drop down box to choose and so am unable to purchase any. Any hints ?!?!? Also tried the chat feature to resolve the issue and it didn't work either. Got to the thumbs up and down part to go ahead with chat and it clsoed the box when I clicked the thumb to start chattin (over and over again). Not having much luck... : (

Hi Soapie78,

Which plan are you on?
The reason I ask this is because the top-up option is only available for our current 8Mbps plans (http://www.peopletelecom.com.au/internet_zone_plans.php).

If you are not on these plans, you will not be able to use the top up option, and suggest you upgrade your plan to one of our other plans (http://www.peopletelecom.com.au/ser_internet_res_broad.php) which are currently upgradable via peoplenet or by contacting Customer Care on 1300558888.

When I look at https://www.peopleservice.com.au/topup.php?show=Y , there is no mention of the requirement to be an 8Mbps plan. It says :

Quote
Remember:

- Top Up usage allowance only applies to the Peak hour allowance (7am - midnight)
- Peak hour usage only will be unshaped / returned back to normal speed
- Your nominated quota expires on the last day of this month
- Quota additions can take up to 30 minutes to take effect
- Any unused quota will not rollover into the next month
- Your Top Up charge will appear on your next invoice
- No Top Up changes can be made during the last day of the month between the hours of 9pm - 3am (EST)
- You will receive an email of confirmation advising of your Top Up amount and charges

Hi Pread,

If you have a look at this link http://www.peopletelecom.com.au/internet_zone_terms.php,
you'll notice that the names of the old 8Mbps plans were different to our new 8Mbps plan names. Which means the Top Up option only applies to the current 8Mbps plans and not the old 8Mbps plans.

Kind regards,
Rannel

I think you missed my point. I am on a 1500 plan, and have hit my download limit for the month. I would like to purchase an extra Gig or two for this month only. From what I can tell (your post on July 20th), this is not possible on a 1500 plan, yet the conditions I stated before (which I linked to by clicking on the "Purchase Additional Usages" option in the left frame when I logged on to peopleservice.com.au) do not mention that. Nothing like "the Top Up usage allowance only applies to current 8Mbps plans".

I just got off the phone with People Telecom. Went through all the voicemail prompts, spoke to a person fairly quickly. Obviously must have been sales, who advised that I had to be transferred to Technical when I asked for a top-up. I got through to Tech Support quite quickly, who then advised I had to speak to Sales ! I pointed out that I had just been transferred by them, and he went offline to speak to someone, came back and advised that my account was currently shaped (Duh!), but that he would reset it for 24 hours. Beyond that, I would have to speak to Sales. He then transferred me back, but the line went dead.

So, please clear this up for me. Can I purchase an extra Gig or two on my plan (1500/256 Easy2 DS) ? If so, how do I go about it ? If not, why not ?

Thanks, Paul.

Hello Paul,

You can only purchase Top Ups with the new Superfast plans as these do not have excess plans. With all other plans we offer, you have the option of being on a shaped or excess plan.

Hi Paul,

Sorry about the confusion. Bottom line is, Top Up only applies to the new 8Mbps plans and not any other plan (this includes the plan you're on).
I know the link to Top Up your plan is in your account when you log in but as you already know, you really can't do it as your service will not appear in the dropdown menu unless you're on the new 8Mbps plan.

Kind regards,
Rannel

Rannel,

Thanks for clearing that up. Perhaps a single line to that effect on the Top-up page would be worthwhile...

Cheers, Paul.
