Hi there

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing modem drop outs every 5 minutes or so.

I have been having this problem since connecting to Swiftdsl (First time DSL user) so I'm not sure if this is the nature of DSL or if I have a problem.

I have an Alcatel speedtouch home upgraded to a pro and (when its up) it works great.
I have set the modem to router mode and "always-on" mode but the link seem to drop at ramdom times , anywhere between 3 and 20 minutes apart. It apears to be a line issue not a network issue.

Thanks in advance for any assistance

U have any line filters? If so, have u upgraded the latest firmware for your modem?

I believe it could be your phone line at fault. Perhaps you need to call swiftel and have them sorted out.
I was frequently disconnected every few hours until I upgraded the firmware for my router,so I doubt Swiftel is at fault in your case.

Thanks dude.
I never suspected Swift. Their network is great.

I have upgraded to Khdsba3.281 which I found on www.nzdsl.co.nz I was on Khdsba3.270 .
I will do some testing and hope for the best.

Thanks for the help

"It apears to be a line issue not a network issue."

If you think it is a line issue report the problem to:

1300 36 195

tomorrow and have a fault logged with Telstra.
